The beginning of Ztudy

By Mikkel Ytting, founder of Ztudy

Hi. I'm Mikkel, a Danish software developer, and I'm the person building Ztudy.

The world has never had more distractions competing for our attention. Learning is hard. For some people it feels impossible. I've watched smart, curious people give up on a subject not because they couldn't understand it, but because they couldn't sit with it long enough to let it sink in.

AI is quietly making that worse. It can answer almost anything, so it's tempting to outsource thinking entirely, and the human mind gets a little lazier each time we do. I don't think that has to be the trade-off.

Ztudy is my attempt to flip that relationship. Instead of giving you an answer, it turns your own material (notes, slides, a YouTube lecture, or just a topic you're staring at) into flashcards, quizzes, written tests, a tutor, and a podcast. AI does the busy work. You still do the thinking. That's the part that matters.

Ztudy is in its early stages. The first public launch is on May 1, 2026. It won't be perfect. Early things rarely are. But it will be honest, and it will get better every week.

I'm not trying to save the world. I'm just trying to make it a little easier to thrive in. If you're someone who wants to actually learn something, I'd love for you to try it.

Mikkel
